Josh Pearson

Bio

Josh Pearson brings an accomplished collegiate and professional playing background to the Land O’ Lakes football program.
Pearson played wide receiver at Jacksonville State University, where he developed into one of the most productive receivers in program history. During his final two seasons, he recorded 126 receptions for 2,066 yards and a school-record 30 receiving touchdowns. His breakout junior season included 67 receptions for 1,123 yards and 17 touchdowns, leading all Division I players in touchdown receptions. Pearson earned First-Team All-America honors from the Associated Press, STATS and Phil Steele and was also named a finalist for the Walter Payton Award.
In addition to his accomplishments on the field, Pearson was selected to the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team and received the Ohio Valley Conference’s Steve Hamilton Sportsmanship Award for his leadership, citizenship and service in the community.
Following his college career, Pearson signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2020. He spent the season with Tampa Bay’s practice squad, was elevated to the active roster for a regular-season game and was a member of the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV championship organization. Pearson later continued his professional career with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.
Pearson brings the Gators firsthand knowledge of what it takes to succeed as a wide receiver at the collegiate and professional levels. His experience, competitive approach and commitment to developing young athletes make him a valuable addition to the Land O’ Lakes coaching staff.
